For all my travellers out there these are products that you need to get for your next trip. This is a list of the backpacking must-haves that will make your packing and travelling experience 100% better.
Osprey Fairview 40l Backpack
The Osprey Fairview 40l Backpack is an amazing carry-on size travel backpack. It might seem like a small bag but it can fit tons. I brought it on a 6-week backpacking trip around Europe and it was amazing. Especially since I am pretty small it didn’t feel like the bag was the same size as me.
Compression Packing Cubes
Compression packing cubes are a game changer when it comes to fitting all of your stuff into a small backpack. Especially if you want to save money on flights and only bring carry-on luggage the compression packing cubes will come in handy. Not only does it keep your clothes organized but it also allows you to save as much room as possible by compressing all the air out of the bag with just a little zipper.
Microfibre Towel
Microfibre towels save you so much space when packing. Another backpacking essential that you must get. I’m not sure if I’m the only one trying to find anything possible to save space in my small bag, might be because I am an over-packer, but microfibre towels take up almost no room. Not only do they help save space but they also dry super quickly so no need to worry about packing a super wet towel into your backpack.
Fanny Pack
The fanny pack that I bring on all of my travels is the Lululemon fanny pack. Even though it is a small bag you can fit so much in it. Having a bag on your front to keep all your valuables in is super important to help you avoid getting pickpocketed.
Travel Adapter
A universal travel adapter is super important if you are travelling all around the world. A universal adapter is one block that has all the different plugs from around the world.
Bag/ Locker Locks
Locks for your backpack or for lockers in hostels are super important and will help keep your stuff safe. One of the main types of accommodations for backpackers is hostels and when you are sharing a room with strangers it’s always a good idea to lock your belongings up to stay safe. Even if you are walking around the streets with a backpack on your bag locks can also come in handy to avoid pickpocketing.
Lifestraw Water Bottle
When travelling around the world there will be places where it is not safe to drink the tap water. The Lifestraw Water Bottle allows you to drink the water in these places without getting sick because it contains a filter that will filter out the bacteria in the water so it is safe to drink. I brought this on my last trip and it was amazing. It is so convenient because you can fill your water bottle up wherever you are and it saves you money by not having to buy tons of bottled water (and one more plus if that wasn’t enough is it helps the earth by cutting down on one-use plastic).
Hope this was helpful for all my fellow backpackers. These are all the items I wish I had for my first big trip. I have learned about all of these things throughout my travels and hopefully by sharing them with you that you can have an easier packing experience for travelling.
